Spring
"The season of new beginnings and growth, is always an exciting time in The Alnwick Garden. This spring is the most exciting yet as the new Cherry Orchard blossoms for the first time. From February we're celebrating the arrival of the Northumbrian spring, with creative workshops and activities in anticipation of the cherry blossom. Many of them have a Japanese flavour in honour of the Taihaku, and set the scene for the Cherry Blossom Festival featuring performances and a magical parade."
Summer
"A packed programme for the school holidays with lots of street theatre, live music and creative workshops."
Autumn and winter
"A month of book and story-inspired activitiy in October, a fantastic day of spooky family activities for Halloween, and a wonderfully magical Christmas programme with lantern parades, trails and Father Christmas."

Very close by Alnwick Garden, this desination is also a mere 10 mins drive from Boulmer seaside.
"This magnificent Castle has a long a colourful life. It has been at the centre of many of the country's famous historical events - from bloodthirsty battles between English and Scots to the dramatic intriques of the Guy Fawkes plot.
Today it is a 'must see' visitor attraction and the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Like every home, there are sure signs to be found of those that came before us. Sometimes that's the very structure of the building; the decorative style; the treasures that they've left; and sometimes just the stories we still like to share.
"Around every corner, there's a memory and around many there's a surprise. At almost every step there's a story, at a few a mystery, at others a romance or a feud.
Step inside and be part of a story that never ends."

There are no limits to the places you are able to explore, all within close to fair distance of The Fishing Boat Inn.
"Northumberland, for those that know it, is a wonderful place to live, work, and enjoy your leisure. It is a place unlike any other in England. The only other place like it for peace and tranquillity is Scotland. Northumberland is full of wide open spaces, and empty of people! It has the smallest population per square mile of any other part of England. This brings us to the roads in Northumberland - an absolute pleasure to behold, a small population means that there is very little local traffic so only the main roads get busy with through traffic at peak times.
Northumberland is dissected by the three main trunk roads, the A1 running North to South, the A697 running North West to South East, and the A69 running East to West from Newcastle to Carlisle.
Northumberland is a very large county, north to south - Newcastle to Berwick upon Tweed is approximately 60 miles, and east to west - Amble to Kielder is approximately 50 miles; so many miles of peaceful hills and dales to explore!"

Fancy a drive or two? Golf drives that is... Alnmouth Golf Club is around 10 minutes walking distance from The Fishing Boat Inn. Perfect.
"Alnmouth Golf Club overlooks the splendors of both Foxton and Alnmouth Bay. It is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the North East of England. Alnmouth Golf Club (the fourth oldest golf club in England) was formed in 1869, with a nine-hole course on the links at Alnmouth Village.
The famous golf course architect H. S. Colt (the designer of Wentworth, Sunningdale and Pine Valley) was commissioned to create the present course for the Duke of Northumberland in 1930. Although the course has a coastal location it has parkland turf and a reputation for the fine quality of the greens."
